coding portugal #3: Porto

Thu, October 24, 2019
6:00 PM UTC

Ola, Porto! coding portugal, volume 3 is coming to your town October 24th. We tried to find a good selection of mind opening topics and we can't wait to hear the talks of José and Anton.

This is our agenda so far:

7:00pm doors open @ Porto i/o Downtown
7:30pm introduction: coding portugal

7:40pm José Ferrão (@tentonej)
Delivering over 300GB of 3D data to the web in real time

At UNO Digital we develop world-scale visualization tools for geospatial data, point clouds, and CAD models. This information is combined with asset management and IoT monitoring data from our platform allow us to deliver real-time visualizations of production plants. In this talk, we will present the challenges we faced while trying to deliver and render over 300GB of 3D data to the web in real-time.

8:15pm Anton Sutarmin (@AntonSutarmin)
Practical Usage of Algebraic Data Types

Functional programming ideas are often thought of as overcomplicated outside of FP world. Anton will convince us that they aren't! He'll take a look at the concept of algebraic data types and the way they make your code more expressive and clean. Code samples are in Typescript but the basic knowledge of any programming language is sufficient.

---

If you want to join our stage for yet another (lightning) talk, contact us here, on Twitter (@coding_earth) or drop us a mail on [masked]. We'd be very happy to find a good selection of "beginners" and "advanced" topics - no matter whether they're profound intros or just plain demonstrations of a technology or stack that you're currently excited about!

Looking forward seeing you that night!

All contributions follow our golden "*1 line of code*" rule, so demos and live code will be abound. You don't have to register to get into our stream but if you do, we send you updates (and nothing else) like the final YouTube URL of the stream before the event.
